TV, streaming, new releases and highly anticipated returns: here\u2019s what\u2019s coming to our screens this fall and winter.<\/h2>\n

In 2026, television is much more than a screen in our living room. Whether we watch a show on television, a series on our computer, a few episodes on our tablet or on our phone, the ways to consume have never been so numerous and content choices are multiplying.
\nBetween returning shows, new releases that are already generating buzz, and series on streaming platforms, it is sometimes difficult to find your way around. One thing is certain, the 2026-2027 television season has its share of new releases, major comebacks, and great discoveries in store for us.
\nDeep down, no matter the screen or the way of watching, it is always good stories that bring us together, and this year, there will be many of them.<\/p>\n

FRENCH TELEVISION<\/h3>\n

French television remains at the heart of the habits of French Canadians.. Every week, it reaches 81% of Quebecers, which confirms the important place of this medium in viewing habits in Quebec. (Source: Vividata)
\nSo, what have the French channels cooked up for us for the 2026-2027 season? Here is what awaits us on our screens.<\/p>\n

Radio-Canada (ICI T\u00e9l\u00e9)<\/h4>\n

It looks like it will be very busy on the Radio-Canada side. C\u00e9line Bonnier will be at the heart of Sur le fil, a touching drama at the heart of a shelter for homeless people. On the side of dark humor police comedy, Maxime Le Flaguais stars in Bienvenue \u00e0 Kingston-Falls. We also find Plan B for a final season, with Pierre-Fran\u00e7ois Legendre. Nostalgia will also be present as Pierre-Yves Lord takes back the reins of Un Moment de v\u00e9rit\u00e9, in a reinvented version for teens. And of course, several safe bets remain present: STAT, Antigang, Un gars une fille, Temps de chien, En direct de l\u2019univers, Z\u00e9nith, and Tout le monde en parle.<\/p>\n

Finally, major gathering events will be back this year! On the menu, the Gala des Prix G\u00e9meaux on September 13, the Gala de l\u2019ADISQ on November 8, two La Fureur evenings on November 28 and December 5, the Gala Les Olivier on March 21, without forgetting the traditional December 31 block with Infoman, En direct du jour de l\u2019An, and the Bye Bye.<\/p>\n

TVA<\/h4>\n

On TVA’s side, they are relying once again on suspense shows. L\u2019Appel will plunge us back into the heart of the biker war and the investigation into Maurice \u201cMom\u201d Boucher. We will also find Alertes : Pelletier, a spin-off series that will follow an investigation affecting the personal life of the character Guillaume Pelletier, the detective sergeant of the Cerb\u00e8re unit. Ravages, with Caroline Dhavernas at the heart of a story of corruption and a crime series to discover as well, Le dernier des monstres.<\/p>\n

Of course, long-awaited returns: Ind\u00e9fendable, Chanteurs masqu\u00e9s, MasterChef Qu\u00e9bec, Hitster, Les Armes, and Le Tricheur will continue to be part of the essential programming.<\/p>\n

Noovo<\/h4>\n

On Noovo’s side, we find programming that relies on several different concepts, but especially a good dose of reality TV. After their immense success on the Crave streaming platform, Empathie finally arrives on linear TV and plunges us into the daily life of a psychiatric environment, while Hors r\u00e9seau brings us to the forest for a social experiment with Quebec personalities. As reality TV is part of Noovo’s DNA, the network will highlight 20 years of the show Occupation Double with OD 20 ans, a documentary series that will plunge us back into the best archives of the show.<\/p>\n

Several favorites will return. Bellefleur, G\u00e2t\u00e9es pourries, Fear Factor C\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9s, Big Brother, Le ma\u00eetre du jeu, OD Panama, and Les tra\u00eetres will be present, with several of these successes returning in the winter.<\/p>\n

T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec<\/h4>\n

On T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec’s side, there is as much for young ones as for adults. Rosalie Vaillancourt will make us discover Quebec in her own way in the documentary parody D\u00e9couvrons-nous. For younger viewers, Qui a \u00e9clabouss\u00e9 le ministre. En th\u00e9rapie \/ Les psys and the fiction P\u00e9n\u00e9lope partout will plunge us into more emotional universes. And the essentials are still there: \u00c9pique, L\u2019Enqu\u00eate McSween, Dans les m\u00e9dias, Curieux B\u00e9gin, Pour une fois, and Les temps fous.<\/p>\n

ENGLISH TELEVISION<\/h3>\n

A few new releases to watch out for with Junior, Blessed Sacrament, Committed, and The Ambassador. Essentials like Heartland, Dragon\u2019s Den, Family Feud Canada, and the JUNO Awards are also back.<\/p>\n

CTV goes all out with Saturday Night Live, The Traitors New Blood, Newlyweds, and DOC. On the side of classics, Grey\u2019s Anatomy, The Voice, The Rookie, The Masked Singer, and MasterChef Canada remain present, without forgetting the Oscars, the Emmys, and the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

Citytv relies on action and crime with The Rockford Files and Line of Fire. Global offers on its side Cupertino, Eternally Yours, Einstein, and NCIS: New York.<\/p>\n

Streaming platforms continue to put on a show with big productions, while making an increasingly large place for Quebec and French-language content. Crave comes in strong with the return of Bon Cop, Bad Cop, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, season 3 of House of the Dragon, and YAGA. This fall, the long-awaited season 2 of Empathie and the new psychological series, The Good Daughter. This winter, Heated Rivalry will return for a second season.<\/p>\n

NETFLIX \u2014 12% of French-language viewing<\/h4>\n

Netflix offers several highly anticipated returns with Emily in Paris, Lupin, Black Mirror, Bridgerton, and The Night Agent.<\/p>\n

Prime Video continues its major franchises with season 3 of The Rings of Power and season 2 of Fallout. Blade Runner 2099, Elle (the series), and Young Sherlock.<\/p>\n

On Disney+’s side, the Marvel and Star Wars universes are still very present with Vision Quest, Daredevil, Born Again, and Ahsoka. Percy Jackson, The Bear, and the return of Malcolm.<\/p>\n

THE RETURN OF HOCKEY<\/h3>\n

Finally, how can we talk about entertainment without mentioning hockey? Deeply rooted in the viewing habits of Quebecers, national sport also makes the leap to new platforms. The acquisition of NHL Wednesday nights by Prime Video represents a new feature this season for enthusiasts, who will now be able to follow a multitude of teams across the league directly via their Prime subscription, including the Montreal Canadiens. Although traditional channels such as RDS and TVA Sports retain the broadcast of several games, this agreement clearly demonstrates the rapid evolution of the market and the diversification of viewing options.<\/p>\n

There will be something for all tastes this year. It now remains to be seen which shows will succeed in hooking us to the point of making us impatiently wait for the next episode.
